Cred ca se poate raspunde la aceasta dificultate strict de pe pozitiile proprietatii private. In primul rand, organismele modificate genetic se bazeaza pe un fals reglementat de o conventie statala (OECD), care pune semnul de egalitate (“echivalenta substantiala”) intre semintele naturale si cele transformate de ingineri in laborator. Oamenii sunt inselati constant si primesc in loc de un produs adevarat un inlocuitor care doar seamana cu originalul. Este ca si cum ati plati pentru un costum facut pe Savile Row si ati primi o versiune realizata in China. Doar ca in situatia initiala, consecintele arata infinit mai grav pentru sanatatea oamenilor. Avem de-a face cu doua lucruri complet diferite, cu toate ca multi “experti” vor sa nu ne facem griji. In SUA, de pilda, nu exista nicio diferentiere pe produse care sa specifice daca ele provin din OMG sau nu. Pe orice pozitie politica ne-am situa, in acest caz vorbim doar de inselaciune. Chiar daca ea este consfintita sau nu de o organizatie birocratica transnationala precum OECD. Nu doar pentru libertarienii pur-sange, jurnalistul Max Keiser a comparat semintele provenite de la gigantul Monsanto, cel mai mare producator de seminte mutant, cu banii de hartie prin care bancile statale inunda si saracesc lumea. Ambele reprezinta falsuri cu sprijinul carora elitele puterii incearca sa inrobeasca indivizii. In al doilea rand, nu trebuie scapat din vedere faptul ca statul indeplineste foarte multe functii utile. Si daca o face de regula prost, ineficient, excluzand de cele mai multe ori competitia pietei, nu rezulta ca multe din serviciile oferite nu s-ar gasi si intr-o lume mai libera sau ca prezenta sa trebuie refuzata apriori. De exemplu, daca un individ incearca sa-mi fure masina iar politistul se afla in apropiere nu am sa invoc lozinci libertariene de cafenea pentru a-i refuza ajutorul. De aceea nu cred ca o interzicere, in conditiile actuale, a OMG-urilor (in cazul in care exista, si se pare ca exista, dovezi plauzibile ale efectelor negative asupra sanatatii si asupra culturilor naturale din apropierea lor, plus inselaciunea bazata pe principiul echivalentei) ar incalca dramatic principiile unei ordini a proprietatii private. Nu in ultimul rand, strict din punct de vedere istoric, companiile ce promoveaza organismele modificate genetic au beneficiat de toata sustinarea statului (american) si au profitat din plin de reglementarile favorabile oferite. Astfel departe de a fi un rezultat al initiative private pure, OMG-urile indica urme masive de etatism. Si cea mai puternica si perversa dintre aceste reglementari o constituie legea copywrightului prin care companiile cu pricina vor putea (pot?) sa controleze practic tot lantul de producere a alimentelor. In aceasta situatie, si tinand cont de argumentele de mai sus, nu cred ca ar trebui lasata lupta contra OMG-urilor doar pe umerii ecologistilor cu dexteritati de stanga. |
