In schimb, eu am fost placut surprins. Nu pentru ca filmul este unul extraordinar, nici macar unul bun nu se poate spune ca este, ci pentru ca asteptarile mele erau mult mai pesimiste. Din punctul meu de vedere, filmul este mai bun decat cartea. Niciodata n-am inteles entuziasmul cu care a fost primit romanul, in pofida unor puncte de vedere pe care le impartaseam cu autoarea. Este un roman monolog, fiecare personaj recita pe rand dintr-un fel de biblie a capitalismului, individualismului si obiectivismului. Unii recita chiar foarte bine, au intonatie, insa nu se leaga niciun dialog. Asa se explica faptul ca romanul, ca si filmul de altfel, cu greu poate fi apreciat de un cititor/spectator care nu are afinitati ideologice stranse cu autoarea/regizorul. Nu intamplator, in jurul lui Ayn Rand s-a creat inca din timpul vietii un veritabil cult, sustinut char de aceasta, in pofida ateismului sau. Sau poate tocmai de aceea, pentru ca, la fel ca in cazul lui Marx, marii dusmani ai religiei simt nevoia sa o inlocuiasca printr-un veritabil demers escatologic cu un iluzoriu Paradis terestru. Ideea filmului e simpla: pusi in fata unui stat din ce in ce mai agresiv, in 2016 antreprenorii declanseaza o greva. Rand pe rand, cele mai luminate minti ale omenirii dispar misterios. Mai putini cativa eroi tineri, frumosi, supra-rationali, care continua lupta. Aceasta este de altfel cea mai importanta critica ce poate fi adusa filmului: personajele nu au nimic uman in ele. Avem de-a face cu niste super-eroi. Nici dusmanii lor nu se lasa mai prejos, par a fi niste creaturi super-inteligente care gasesc imediat antidotul la eroismul primilor. Nici unii, nici altii nu au slabiciuni umane. Primii se ghideaza perfect dupa logica actiunii economice, cei din urma urmeaza cu aceeasi fidelitate logica actiunii politice. Fragmentul meu favorit este legat de aceasta distinctie intre logica actiunii economice si cea a actiunii politice. El este reprezentat de o discutie dintre unul din eroi, Hank Rearden, creatorul unui metal care risca, prin calitatile sale superioare, sa falimente o intreaga industrie, si un om de stiinta reprezentant al Institului Stiintific al Statului. Aceasta din urma ii “explica” antreprenorului ca, in cazul in care metalul produs de Rearden nu este bun atunci el este un “pericol fizic” pentru utilizatorii caii ferate, iar, in cazul in care este bun, situatia este si mai grava, el devenind un “pericol social”. Libertarienii sunt extrem de impartiti cand vine vorba de Ayn Rand. Unii, precum Justin Raymondo, o acuza pentru plagierea romanului The Driver al lui Garet Garrett. Stephan Kinsella o apara, chiar daca neconvingator in opinia mea. Insa indiferent cui ii apartine, lui Garet Garrett sau lui Ayn Rand, dupa lecturarea romanului sau dupa vizionarea filmului, consumatorul (sau mai ales dezamagitul antreprenor modern) ramane cu o intrebare: Who is John Galt? |
