| Daca economistii mainstream sunt optimisti cu privire la evolutia economiei globale ca urmare a progresului tehnologic, unul dintre cei mai importanti reprezentanti ai Scolii Austriece de Economie, Jörg Guido Hülsmann isi pastreaza precautia. Chiar daca recunoaste ca Grecia are probleme insurmontabile, profesorul german este reticent cu privire la posibilitatea dezmembrarii zonei euro. In opinia sa, spre deosebire de alte disolutii ale unor uniuni monetare, precum cea care a urmat dezmembrarii politice a Imperiului Habsburgic, in prezent populatia Uniunii Europene, si mai ales politicienii si tehnocratii europeni, nu vor sa accepte acest lucru. Hülsmann a dat exemplul germanilor, care, in continuare, isi exprima opinii majoritar pro-europene. “Lucrurile ar putea sa se schimbe in urmatorii cinci ani, in functie de evolutia evenimentelor si a cadrului institutional”, a declarat Hülsmann. Intrebat ce ar alege daca ar avea in fata un dolar, un euro si o marca germana, profesorul german a raspuns ca evident marca, numai ca acest scenariu este imposibil pentru ca nemtii nu vor deocamdata sa renunte la moneda euro. In dizertatia sustinuta in urma cu cateva luni la Academia de Studii Economice, unde s-a aflat la invitatia Institutului Ludwig von Mises Romania si a Centrului de Economie Politica si Afaceri Murray Rothbard, Hulsmann a criticat teoria ca pietele financiare ar reprezenta un bastion al capitalismului. Si cum ele de obicei sunt acuzate pentru actuala criza, aceasta este catalogata drept o criza a capitalismului. In general cand se vorbeste despre implicatia statului in economie se vorbeste doar despre impozitare si reglementare. Insa mai exista un tip de implicatie, interventionismul pe pietele financiare, care se manifesta in mai multe forme: cerinte minime de detinere de titluri de stat pentru asiguratorii privati, solicitarea de titluri de stat drept colateral de catre bancile centrale sau cerintele de capital specifice acordurilor Basel. Nu numai ca pietele financiare sunt obiectul mai multor forme de interventionism al statului, dar statul este si principalul lor client. “Guvernele sunt si actori pe pietele financiare, pentru ca detin banci. De remarcat este si faptul ca in marile centre financiare peste o treime din economiile din sistemele financiare sunt absorbite de stat si folosite de guverne pentru finantarea cheltuielilor publice. Aceste cheltuieli nu sunt rentabile, iar statul acopera pierderile prin impozitele si taxele impuse populatiei si companiilor, care trebuie sa plateasca propriile imprumuturi, dar si pe cele ale statelor”. |
