Exista o vorba pe la inceputul secolului trecut, conform careia alegerea omului modern se va face intre a fi bolsevic si a fi iezuit. Atunci, in principiu, optiunea nu parea foarte greu de facut (pentru occidentali) in conditiile in care comunistii isi propuneau din start sa demoleze civilizatia europeana. Astazi, in schimb, dupa Vatican II (adica dupa ce Biserica a acceptat marxismul, ecumenismul si deschiderea cvsasitotala in fata modernitatii), deosebirile dintre iezuit si bolsevic au devenit aproape insignifiante. Biserica Catolica a cerut, ieri, in mod oficial, infiintarea unei autoritati publice globale si a unei banci centrale, cu jurisdictie universala. In cuvinte mai putin pompoase, Vaticanul doreste infiintarea unui stat unic mondial, cu o politica singulara, pentru a depasi “idolatria pietelor” si a practica o justitie sociala la scara planetara. In cazul in care cineva ar mai manifesta oaresice dubii cu privire la caracterul unui astfel de stat, acesta ar fi, fara prea mari dubii, cel mai totalitar stat cunoscut in istorie. Motivatia ambitiei institutionale a bisericii este camuflata in retorica pasiunilor umane primare. “In fapt, criza a scos la iveala comportamente ca egoismul, lacomia colectiva si tezaurizarea bunurilor pe o scara foarte mare”, se arata in documentul Vaticanului... Ca si cum ar fi fost nevoie de o panica economica globala ca Biserica sa-si dea seama ca omul este de cele mai multe ori egoist si lacom... Luata doar sub beneficiu de inventar, solutia propusa de catolici straluceste prin intunecarea tocmai fata de o istorie morala. Practic, Vaticanul recurge la un celebru argument hobbeseian si ar vrea sa puna lupul paznic la oi. Astfel, ignora deliberat pericolele unui aranjament mondial, care ar duce in ultima instanta la abolirea omului sau a ceea ce a mai ramas din el. Modernismul ideologic si indepartarea de traditie a Bisericii Catolice reies exemplar din filozofia expusa in document. In viziunea Vaticanului, solutia pentru indreptarea unor patimi si slabiciuni omenesti o constituie apelul la o organizatie birocratica transnationala. “...omul modern a dezvoltat o incredere dezordonata in organizare si eficienta si, in general, in masinarii ca un mijloc de atingere a unor scopuri etice. Daca i se spune ca in pericol este civilizatia, primul lui instinct este sa numeasca un comitet pentru salvarea civilizatiei”, scria Irving Babbitt in 1924, intr-o carte care analiza pericolele lumii moderne. Vaticanul recomanda ONU drept model pentru un viitor stat unic mondial, insa ceea ce trebuie remarcat este sustinerea tot mai ampla de care se bucura aceasta idee. Ecologisti, catolici, umanitaristi cu mitraliera, ecumenisti isi dau mana pentru a lucra la utopia comunismului global. Si nimeni nu ar trebui sa aiba iluzii cu privire la ce inseamna o desfiintare a “barierelor” dintre oameni si crearea unei agentii de reglementare si legiferare mondiala. “…when the struggle seems to be drifting definitely towards a world social democracy, there may still be very great delays and disappointments before it becomes an efficient and beneficent world system. Countless people ... will hate the new world order, be rendered unhappy by the frustration of their passions and ambitions through its advent and will die protesting (s.n) against it. When we attempt to evaluate its promise, we have to bear in mind the distress of a generation or so of malcontents, many of them quite gallant and graceful-looking people” (comunistul H.G. Wells in "The Open Conspiracy").
